Ormilio vs WorshipTools Presenter
Ormilio vs WorshipTools Presenter: both start free, but they do different jobs. Here is a plain look at which fits your group.
WorshipTools Presenter and Ormilio are both free to start, and both help a church show song words. That is where most of the likeness ends. Presenter is software for the church computer and the screens it runs. Ormilio puts the words on everyone's phone and on the big screen, led from a phone. Here is a fair look at both.
What WorshipTools Presenter is
Presenter is church presentation software from WorshipTools. You install it on a Mac or Windows computer. It is free forever, and you can install it on as many computers as you like. It comes with more than 45 Bibles, and you can bring in song lyrics from SongSelect and Loop Community. WorshipTools also offers a large library of motion backgrounds. You may know it by its old name, Worship Extreme.
A paid upgrade unlocks more: a Stage Display for the team, a mobile Remote to control the slides from a phone, and more than one output screen. The Stage Display shows the current line, the next line, chords and notes. The phone apps for iPhone, iPad and Android are part of the paid plan.
Presenter is part of a bigger family of tools from WorshipTools, including Planning, Charts and Rehearse. Charts gives the band chord charts and lyrics on their own devices. The WorshipTools website comes in many languages.
What Ormilio is
Ormilio is a simple web app for singing together. The leader picks songs from a small free library of public domain hymns, or pastes in their own words. They put today's songs in order and move forward from a phone, with a tap or with a timer set to a number of seconds per line.
Everyone else joins by scanning a QR code, tapping a WhatsApp link or typing a short join number. There is no app to install, no account and no password. The words open on each phone, with bigger letters, dark mode, scroll back and a tap to catch up. The big screen shows the same words full screen, easy to read from the back.
Ormilio is free forever for up to 10 songs and 20 people at once. Ormilio Plus costs $10 a month, paid in your own currency, and removes those limits. It works in any language and any alphabet.
The main differences, in plain words
Who holds the phone. In WorshipTools, the phone apps are for the team: the person moving the slides and the musicians on stage. In Ormilio, the phone is for everyone. Each person in the room can follow the same line on their own phone, with bigger letters if they need them.
The computer. Presenter runs on a computer that you set up and connect to the screens. Ormilio needs no computer and nothing to install. The leader can run everything from a phone.
What it shows. Presenter is a full presentation tool, with Bibles, backgrounds and several screens. Ormilio shows plain words only: songs, prayers and readings. No chords, no audio, no video, no backgrounds.
What is free. Presenter itself is free with no limit on installs, and you pay to add the stage display, remote and extra screens. Ormilio is free for up to 10 songs and 20 people at once, with every feature included. Larger groups pay $10 a month.
Can you use both?
Yes. A church can run Presenter on the big screen, with Bible verses and backgrounds, and use Ormilio so everyone can follow the songs on their own phone. Your band can keep using WorshipTools Charts for chords, while the people in the seats use Ormilio for the words.
The tools do not connect to each other, so someone moves each one forward. In a small group, one person can do both.
Which one fits your group?
WorshipTools Presenter is the better choice if you have a church computer and a projector, and you want Bibles, motion backgrounds, several screens and a stage display for the band. Being free makes it a strong pick for many churches.
Ormilio fits when you mainly want everyone to sing from the same words, with no computer and no setup: a home group, a prayer meeting, a choir, a youth night, or a room with no projector. It is also a good fit when older members want big, clear letters right in their hands.
